Can international students take a diploma in Canada?

Yes. International students can enrol in diploma programs at designated learning institutions (DLI), and they need a study permit to do so. The Maritime College is currently a DLI, but its programs are not eligible for post-graduate work permit (PGWP).

Working in Canada after graduation is a separate question. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada states that graduating from a designated learning institution does not automatically make you eligible for a post-graduation work permit. Confirm the status of your specific program before you apply.
